Experienced Accountant / Tax Specialist

The Accounts and Tax Team
Our Accounts and Tax Team provides direct support to clients, both in their compliance requirements such as accounts and tax returns preparation as well as general support and problem solving. Support to our business clients ranges from making recommendations on best business practice to helping to be tax efficient.
Role overview
We are looking for an experienced accountant and or tax specialist to join our busy team in Great Chesterford. As part of your role, you will be working to produce annual statutory accounts and tax related matters for clients while starting to identify advice on best practice and recommendations for partner review. As well as providing support to our clients from an accounting and tax perspective, you will also be working on wider goals of the team and firm – including the development of junior team members.
Key duties
Duties can be tailored to accommodate someone with a mixed skill set or a specialist in accounts or tax. Due to the growth within our teams, we can also accommodate various levels of experience.
- Accounts preparation for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
- Preparation of corporation tax returns
- Preparation of personal tax returns
- Supporting clients in accounting and taxation issues
- Assisting in the preparation for client meetings and client visits
- Working as part of a team to carry out additional client and in-house projects as required
- Assisting clients with systems development and improvements
Person requirements
- Good attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Good organisational skills
- Good technical knowledge
- Ability to use own initiative and work autonomously, as well as part of a team
- Previous experience working in Practice
- Qualified, qualified by experience, or studying for professional qualifications
- Good knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook
Terms
Holiday: 23 days per year + bank holidays
Hours: Ideally full time (37.5 hours per week), part time considered
Type: Permanent
Salary: Dependant on experience

Experienced Administrator

The Administration Team
Our administration team is the engine room of the practice, carrying out essential tasks to keep the firm running smoothly. This team plays a critical role by helping its colleagues to be more efficient and focused on delivering excellent service to the firm’s clients.
Role overview
This is an opportunity for someone with administration experience to join an established team of administration professionals based at our Great Chesterford office.
Working as part of an experienced team you will help to process daily administrative duties. The role holder will support colleagues as well as replying to emails, handling phone calls, and liaising with firm staff to ensure optimal service delivery. You will play an important role by contributing to the smooth running of the services provided by the team. You must be customer-service focused and a team player.
Key duties
- General administrative duties (such as dealing with phone calls, post, and filing)
- Organisation of your own workload, including following up responses required to complete your tasks
- Follow systems to attend to updates and changes to records, including generating documentation and letters
- Updating and maintaining internal systems, including the firm’s client database
- Ensuring the office is well presented at all times
- Digitising records and uploading them to relevant systems
- Administrative support to the practice as a whole
- Occasional visits to support our Newmarket office
Person requirements
- Strong attention to detail
- Customer service experience and a good telephone manner
- Strong communication skills
- Strong organisational skills
- Strong understanding of Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Punctual and attentive to support a busy team
- Prior experience in administration roles
Terms
Holiday: 23 days per year + bank holidays
